Writing the Fluid story

The evolution of Fluid

We came to build one store.
We ended up rebuilding everything behind it.

We were hired to build one ecommerce experience. Instead, the project exposed an infrastructure problem beneath the entire business—and forced us to build an entire connected platform.

Scroll to build the city
01 Connect

The first thing we had to build wasn’t ecommerce. It was a foundation.

We normalized people, products, orders, ranks, and commissions so the systems the business already depended on could finally work together.

02 Commerce

Then we had to design commerce for the way direct selling actually works.

Enrollment, logged-in purchasing, native subscriptions, rep context, and compensation-aware checkout had to work together. So we built Commerce for direct sales.

03 Payments

Then we had to make every payment more likely to succeed.

Eight processor connections, underwriting, retries, smart routing, and the payment methods customers already expected.

04 Fair Share

Then we had to make sharing something people could trust.

Every share, visit, follow-up, and order had to preserve who created the customer. Fair Share gave the field confidence they would receive the credit.

05 Rep Experience

Then we had to give every rep one place to move their business forward.

The app, portal, messaging, products, assets, and next actions came together in one connected experience.

06 Droplets

Then we had to put sales and marketing back in control.

Sales and marketing could create and extend connected web and mobile experiences while IT kept the standards, permissions, and control.

07 The engine

Piece by piece, six products became one platform.

Not six tools held together with promises. One direct-sales engine, built one necessary layer at a time.

08 Infrastructure

Then we had to build the roads between everything.

Shared records, identity, permissions, events, and governed read-and-write paths became the roads and transit beneath every product.

09 MIST

We had to build it all. Now we get to make it intelligent.

MIST inherits the city’s context, connections, permissions, and workflows—so AI can safely work across the whole company.

10 One coordinated plan

One request can now move an entire company.

Ask MIST to open India. Connect, Commerce, Payments, Fair Share, Rep Experience, and Droplets can respond as one governed platform.

11 The payoff

More momentum for the field. More control for IT. More growth for everyone.

Sales and marketing move faster. IT keeps the guardrails. The field gets a better experience.
